Chapter 328 Shi Lei's Report
Chapter 328 Shi Lei's Report
Han Che ignored the little tricks between Raven and Shi Ding, and waved to the two of them: "Shi Lei is here too, perfect, let's go inside and talk."
Shi Ding and Shi Lei immediately stepped forward to open the office door and hold it open, and then Han Che stepped into the office.
The raven was left standing there alone, ignored by everyone.
Just as he was feeling a little embarrassed, Raven looked up and suddenly saw that Shi Ding was still holding up the office door, turning around and looking at him with a look of disgust.
Are you coming in or not?
"Hehehe, here it comes!" Raven grinned, then followed him into the office.
He slipped over to a nearby sofa, sat down, crossed his legs, and slumped back against the sofa, looking like he was ready to watch the show.
Han Che walked back to his office chair and sat down, his gaze falling on Shi Ding and Shi Lei. He placed his hands on the desk, his fingers tapping lightly against each other. "How's the situation in prison? Tell me."
Shi Ding glanced at Shi Lei slightly. Shi Lei understood, took half a step forward, cleared his throat, and said, "Your Excellency Warden, I will be reporting to you today."
"Oh?" Han Che raised an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping back and forth between Shi Ding and Shi Lei, then nodded. "Alright. Go ahead."
"When the Tidal Prison opened last time, a total of 15 players entered, and nearly half of them attempted to enter the core area. Our personnel suffered casualties: 3 guards and 7 prisoners were killed."
"Huh?" Han Che was surprised by this result. "Why are there so many people this time? Are there any top clubs involved?"
In the player world, Han Che was focused on dealing with his own affairs at Dam Zero and paid no attention to the Tide Prison.
But at least he didn't recall hearing of any top clubs going to Tidal Prison. After all, going to Tidal Prison usually generates a lot of media buzz.
Shi Lei shook his head. "We didn't find any top clubs with uniform attire, but one team was indeed much more professional than the others in terms of equipment and tactics."
"Most of the casualties were killed at his hands."
"And then? What happened?" Han Che pressed.
"The enemy coordinated very well and advanced quickly. Our first few lines of defense were breached much earlier than expected. Later, Brother Shi Ding redeployed and led the brothers to successfully defend the core area."
"In the end, six players were killed. But the well-equipped team... was not left alive."
This result is actually quite good. In Tide Prison, without a map boss, the fact that the guards and prisoners could withstand the attack of fifteen players and even kill six of them would have been considered a great victory in the past.
But he keenly caught the detail in Shi Lei's words: the well-equipped team ran away, and even after Shi Ding gave the order, they still didn't stay.
This means that the team's strength far exceeds that of ordinary players.
"Any other clues? Is there anything unusual about that group?" Han Che asked coldly, uttering each word carefully.
"Your Excellency, Warden!" Shi Lei said, "They are Americans!"
"American?"
"Yes, Your Excellency Warden, most of the extra players this time are Americans!"
Han Che's pupils contracted slightly. There was only one known portal to the Tide Prison, located within the Dragon Kingdom.
For American players to enter the Tidal Prison, they either need to enter through a portal within the Dragon Kingdom, which means they are either already in the Dragon Kingdom or have somehow gained access.
Either way, there's some other teleportation channel he's unaware of. Either way, it's definitely not normal.
Several ideas raced through his mind, but each one was missing a crucial piece of the puzzle, and he couldn't come up with a solution no matter how hard he tried.
He simply pushed the tangled mess aside and decided not to delve into it for the time being.
What exactly were the details of these combat losses?
Just as Shi Lei was about to speak, Shi Ding pressed down on his shoulder.
Shi Lei turned around and saw Shi Ding wink at him, meaning that he would say the rest.
Shi Lei shut his mouth and took half a step back.
Shi Ding took a step forward and stood directly in front of the desk. "Your Excellency Warden, the brothers did their best!"
"The opponent is very agile, giving the brothers few opportunities, and with the same attack window, it's difficult to inflict serious damage on them."
"Finally, it was the three Lin brothers from the personal guard who completed the armor-piercing. The personal guard's advance forcibly compressed the enemy's movement space, forcing that group to retreat."
Han Che glanced at Shi Ding and Shi Lei's expressions, finding them somewhat amusing, but said nothing, muttering under his breath, "The equipment gap..."
"I'll take care of this. I'll revive the brothers in a bit, and you guys can go and pick them up."
"Yes!" Shi Ding and Shi Lei saluted and accepted the order, then the two of them withdrew.
"Shi Ding, stay for a moment, Raven wants to have a chat with you."
Shi Ding stopped and turned around. Shi Lei also stopped, looked back at Shi Ding and then at Han Che, a hint of doubt on his face.
Han Che tilted his head slightly towards the door: "Raven just said she wanted to talk to you about our feelings, so I thought I'd stay and chat."
Shi Ding looked at Raven and saw that Raven also had a bewildered expression. He immediately understood what was going on. "The warden is afraid. He left me alone to make Shi Lei overthink things."
"You go back first, Shi Lei. I'll practice with Raven," Shi Ding said.
"Then I'll take my leave." Shi Lei left the office.
After the footsteps faded into the distance, Han Che finally spoke, "Are you trying to train Shi Lei?"
Shi Ding nodded slightly. "Yes, Your Excellency Warden, nothing escapes your notice. I want him to get some training, since there might be times when I'm not around, and he can help you with some of the work then."
"The deputy warden needs to be paired with another deputy deputy warden?" Raven sat casually on the sofa.
Shi Ding glared at him, and Raven stuck out its tongue and stopped talking.
Han Che ignored him. "So, the tactics for the last operation were arranged by Shi Lei?"
"Yes." Shi Ding's voice was somewhat anxious. "But Your Excellency Warden, I approved all the battle plans, so the responsibility actually lies with me..."
Han Che raised his hand to interrupt Shi Ding, "It's not that serious, and I don't think there's anything wrong with your tactics."
"The presence of Americans in Tide Prison is definitely not normal. It's a bit much to ask Shi Lei to arrange such opponents on his first assignment."
"There is indeed a gap between our equipment and that of the players, which is an unavoidable fact. I will try my best to arrange upgrades."
Hearing the warden's words, Shi Ding breathed a slight sigh of relief and straightened his back again: "Thank you for your understanding, Warden. I will compile the details of Shi Lei's situation into a written report and send it over."
